Tinder Summer Intern Beach Picnic in Santa Monica

Summer internships go by fast, and Tinder's events and culture team wanted to give its interns one proper Santa Monica send-off. The team reached out asking for a picnic from late afternoon into the early evening at the end of July 2024, and booked the date straight after.

We set the picnic on the sand in Santa Monica, with our picnic inventory scaled up to the group's headcount and still and sparkling water for every guest. The group was welcome to bring its own food and drinks, so the team could keep the menu as simple or as festive as it liked.

It is an easy format for a summer cohort: low-key, easy to reach, and a chance for new colleagues to spend a few hours together away from their desks.
