Snap Inc. Team Picnic for 20 at Lifeguard Tower 28

Snap Inc.'s People Tech team booked an evening beach picnic in early August 2023, and the brief was simple: get everyone together outside, around one table. The team was in town for an onsite work week, and the organizer asked that the setup read as a single long table rather than separate groups, so the whole team could sit together.

We set the picnic for 20 at Lifeguard Tower 28 with a chalkboard that read "Welcome Snap Team!" The team ordered dinner from Mendocino Farms, which our picnic manager received on the sand and set out on a shaded buffet table so people could fill a plate and head back to the table. Bocce and cornhole were set up nearby, and we brought extra coolers with ice for the drinks the group brought along.

It's a format that works well for work weeks: a 6pm start after the last meeting, a relaxed dinner, and lawn games for anyone who'd rather move than sit.
