Netflix Intern Beach Day: Fourth Year at Tower 12, Santa Monica

Netflix's Emerging Talent team has made its LA Intern Beach Day a summer tradition, and in July 2025 we hosted it for the fourth year in a row. The date was picked as the one Friday when the whole intern class would be in town together, and 20 interns joined for a midday picnic from 11:30am to 1:30pm.

As in past years, we set up on the sand at Lifeguard Tower 12, just north of the Santa Monica Pier, with a Large Beach Picnic scaled to the group and a shaded buffet area for the lunch Netflix brought along. The chalkboard sign read "Welcome Netflix Interns," the same greeting as previous years.

The interns had plenty to do between lunch and conversation: cornhole, Spikeball, ladder toss, bocce and two volleyballs. It is a simple, low-effort format for a program team. They bring the food, we handle the setup, the water and the games, and a new class of interns gets an afternoon at the beach together before the summer ends.
