Carelon Innovation Team Picnic at Zuma Beach for 36

Not every picnic happens in Santa Monica. In May 2024, Carelon Digital Platforms, part of Elevance Health, asked us to head up the coast to Zuma Beach for its Innovation Team, a 36-person group based near Woodland Hills.

The picnic was the final event of a three-day gathering, and it came with a small surprise: earlier that afternoon the team took part in a beach cleanup and walked right past the setup, not knowing it was waiting for them. Service started at 4pm and ran about 90 minutes.

We handled the food end to end, ordering from Thyme Cafe and picking it up on the way to Malibu, then setting it out on two buffet tables under a canopy. Charcuterie boards were placed on the picnic tables, and two cornhole sets gave people something to do while they caught up. The chalkboard read "Welcome, Innovation Team!"
