A Birthday Beach Picnic for 45 in Santa Monica

A family booked our Large Beach Picnic for a birthday celebration in April 2026. It started out planned for about 30 guests and grew to 45 in the final week, so we scaled the seating, tableware and coolers to match. The party began mid-afternoon, so guests had the warmest, brightest part of the day on the sand.

Along with the picnic tables, rugs and pillows, the setup had three extra-large coolers plus a long cooler for drinks, disposable plates and silverware for easy cleanup, and insulated metal cups. We set out a full spread of lawn games (cornhole, Spikeball, ladder toss and bocce) so kids and adults could drift between the table and the games, and a Bose S1 speaker on a tripod supplied the music.

Several guests at the party, and a few people walking past, asked the host who had done the setup. It's a good example of how a birthday for more than 40 people can still be a laid-back beach afternoon when the seating, drinks and entertainment are already in place when everyone arrives.
