A Baby Shower Picnic for 45 at Clover Park, Santa Monica

Not every picnic we do is on the sand. In April 2026 we set up a baby shower at Clover Park in Santa Monica, a big grassy park near the Santa Monica Airport. The host wanted a quiet, shady spot away from the busier barbecue areas. Guests came and went over the afternoon, and the final count reached 45.

The seating was a mix of 20 low pillow seats at picnic tables and 25 banquet chairs at standard-height tables, so older guests had a proper chair. A pop-up canopy shaded three buffet tables, and we brought three chafing dishes with fuel and serving ware to keep the food warm. Two coolers held 45 still and 45 sparkling waters on ice. Cornhole, Spikeball, bocce and ladder toss were set up on the lawn, and a Bose S1 speaker played music.

The host ordered the food from Thyme Cafe, one of our go-to Santa Monica caterers, and picked it up on the way to the park. Our team plated it into the buffet once she arrived.
