A Late-Afternoon Birthday Beach Picnic for 21 at Tower 12

This July 2024 birthday picnic for 21 guests took place at Lifeguard Tower 12, just off PCH north of the Santa Monica Pier. The guest of honor booked our Large Beach Picnic and had a specific look in mind, so she brought along her own decor pieces to layer onto our setup and give the celebration a personal aesthetic.

We shifted the start half an hour earlier to 4:30 pm at her request, which gave the group extra late-afternoon time on the sand. Our team built the picnic out with low tables, rugs and cushions scaled for the full guest list, leaving plenty of room for the birthday touches she added herself.

Tower 12 sits right beside Perry's Beach Cafe and a large beachfront lot, which makes it an easy meeting point for a group arriving from different parts of town — a simple, relaxed way to gather a big circle of friends for a birthday by the ocean.
