A UCLA Graduation Picnic for 16 with Volleyball

Graduation weekend in June 2024 brought a family to the beach to toast a new UCLA graduate. The picnic started at 5pm and ran three hours, and the chalkboard cheered the grad on in true Bruin fashion.

The group of 16 had a mix of seating: ten spots on floor pillows around a low picnic table, and six at a high table with chairs for anyone who wanted to sit up off the sand, plus two foldable high beach chairs. A volleyball net was added during the picnic, so the afternoon had some action alongside the food and toasts.

Mixed-height seating like this is worth considering for any family celebration where grandparents and graduates share the same table.
