A Four-Hour Birthday Beach Picnic for 25 at Tower 12

Some birthdays call for a long afternoon rather than a quick lunch. For this family's celebration in late August 2024, we booked a four-hour picnic from 2 to 6pm at Lifeguard Tower 12, set right in front of Perry's Beach Cafe, for 25 guests.

The group's picnic tables, cushions and umbrellas were scaled to the full headcount, and we added six low beach chairs for anyone who preferred to sit up off the sand. A buffet table with a tablecloth and its own umbrella kept the food shaded for the whole afternoon, and still and sparkling water came with the setup. For food, the family could order directly from Perry's, since the picnic sits just steps from the cafe.
