A 50th Anniversary Beach Day for 35, Planned with Tessa Lyn Events

Fifty years of marriage deserves a proper beach day. In October 2023 we worked with Tessa Lyn Events on one part of a two-day anniversary celebration: a late-morning picnic on the sand for 35 family members and friends.
Most guests were staying at Shutters on the Beach, so we set up near the boardwalk path by the Casa del Mar roundabout, where a walkway makes it easier to get down to the sand. Many of the guests were in their 70s and 80s, so alongside our low tables and pillows we added 20 elevated beach chairs and ten extra umbrellas to keep everyone comfortable and shaded.
The planner ordered sandwiches, chips and cookies from Mendocino Farms, which arrived mid-morning and were laid out on our buffet tables, and charcuterie boards went on the picnic tables. She sprinkled seashells down the tables in place of flowers. Two giant Jenga sets and a Bose speaker rounded out the setup.
