Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce Beach Picnic at Tower 28

In July 2023, the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce held a gathering on its own city's beach. We set up a picnic for 25 at Lifeguard Tower 28 in the Ocean Park neighborhood.
We set up two buffet tables under a shade canopy so the food stayed out of the midsummer sun, with plenty of room for guests to serve themselves. Around the picnic, beach games on the sand gave guests something to do between conversations.
For a local business group, a picnic like this is a change from a meeting room: guests could sit together at the low tables and still move around easily to meet everyone. Tower 28 has a large parking lot right behind the sand, which makes it easy for guests to drop in.
