A Proposal Celebration Beach Picnic for 30 at Tower 12

After the proposal comes the party. In December 2025 we hosted a proposal celebration for about 30 friends and family on a Saturday afternoon at Lifeguard Tower 12, just north of the Santa Monica Pier. The host was clear about the feel: no long sit-down table, just a relaxed picnic area where people could have drinks, move around and talk.

So we broke the layout into pieces. Four six-person low tables on separate rugs, with gaps between them, created smaller conversation spots instead of one long row. Several grandparents were coming, so we added a regular-height banquet table with six firm chairs, plus four low beach chairs for lounging.

A canopy over two buffet tables handled food and drinks, and a Bose speaker on a tripod played music across the setup. Cornhole, Spikeball, ladder toss and bocce were set out for anyone who wanted to play. The guest count grew from about 24 to 30 in the final week, and the layout scaled up with it.
