NBA All-Star Week Beach Dinner by the Regent & Sandbourne

During NBA All-Star week in February 2026, the league hosted a beach dinner for its group staying at the Regent and the Sandbourne in Santa Monica. We set it up on the sand directly in front of the two hotels, so guests could walk straight out to the beach, for a Tuesday evening from 4:30pm to 7:30pm with sunset at about 5:30.
Seating was split between 20 pillow seats at low tables and 20 chairs at regular-height tables, with four highboy cocktail tables for mingling. Three canopies covered six buffet tables for dinner from Vucacious, whose buffet presentation looked great on the sand. String lights carried the setup into the evening, and a Bose speaker on a tripod handled the music.
Rain was forecast for later that night, so we kept a close eye on the weather with the client and the Vucacious team, who offered their own indoor restaurant nearby as a backup. The client chose to stay on the beach, and the rain held off. Between courses guests had cornhole, ladder toss and bocce.
