An Engagement Picnic for 46 with String Lights and a Photographer

In May 2024 a family threw an engagement picnic for their daughter and her fiancé, with 46 guests on the sand in Santa Monica.

The seating mixed 26 floor pillows around low tables with 20 chairs for guests who preferred to sit higher. String lights ran between the umbrellas and flameless candles dotted the tables, for a softer, more romantic look. Two canopies shaded three buffet tables for the catering, which we picked up and set out before guests arrived.

A photographer captured the couple and their guests, and the lawn games (two cornhole sets, two ladder toss sets, bocce and Spikeball) gave everyone something to do between toasts. The chalkboard read "Happy Engagement Picnic!"
