Delta Gamma LMU Mom's Weekend Beach Picnic for 62

The Delta Gamma chapter at Loyola Marymount University chose the beach for its Mom's Weekend activity in November 2024, bringing 62 mothers and daughters together for a midday picnic. A student planner organized the event, working through the chapter's own facility agreement and insurance requirements along the way.

We set the picnic for all 62 guests, with low tables and seating laid out across the sand, and added a canopy over two buffet tables so the food had its own shaded station. The picnic started at noon, giving moms and daughters the middle of the day together on the beach.

A sorority family weekend is a good match for a large beach picnic: everyone sits together, moms and daughters can drift between the tables and the water, and there is nothing for the chapter to haul in or clean up afterwards.
