A UCLA Graduation Beach Picnic for 29 at Tower 28

Graduation weekend in June 2023 brought one family to Lifeguard Tower 28 to celebrate their son finishing at UCLA. The chalkboard congratulated the Class of 2023 graduate, and 29 guests joined the picnic.
The family booked three hours, from 4 to 7 p.m., so the celebration ran into the evening. They added a 30-minute session with our photographer to capture the graduate with family and friends on the sand.
Dessert was a highlight, with two cakes on the buffet table beside the picnic, served on white plates. The rest of the setup was our large-group picnic: low tables, rugs and pillow seating, shade umbrellas, and still and sparkling water. It was a relaxed way to mark a milestone after the formality of commencement.
