Netflix Team Onsite Beach Lunch in Santa Monica

In June 2026 a Netflix engineering team (Media Encoding Pipelines & Systems) held an onsite at the beach. The chalkboard said "Welcome to the Onsite! Old Waves & New Tides, Same Legendary Team!" The group booked our Large Beach Picnic for 21 people and extended it to a five-hour day, 9 AM to 2 PM.

We added eight low beach chairs next to the picnic tables and set up a shaded buffet area. Two large coolers held sparkling and still water on ice, and a third cooler of still water went in later. For games, the team chose four frisbees, a volleyball, two cornhole sets and Spikeball.

Lunch came from Thyme Cafe in Santa Monica. The team picked the menu: beef sliders, chicken satay, a chicken Cobb salad, farro and roasted cauliflower salad, South Indian vegetable curry, beef brisket, ginger sesame salmon, and cupcakes to finish. We collected the order from the cafe late in the morning and brought it to the beach in insulated Cambro carriers so the hot dishes stayed warm until lunch was served around 11 AM.
