Netflix Intern Beach Picnic for 20 at Tower 28

Netflix booked us for a second summer in a row. In July 2023, the same program that held an intern picnic with us the year before came back with the same plan: a 20-person picnic at Lifeguard Tower 28 to welcome that summer's interns. The chalkboard read "Welcome Netflix Interns."
This time they moved it earlier, to 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and asked whether a surf lesson could be part of the day. Kapowui Surf runs lessons from the same stretch of beach at Tower 28, so we connected the team with them and suggested scheduling the lesson right before or right after the picnic, with enough of a gap to dry off.
The picnic used our large-group setup: low tables, rugs, pillows, shade umbrellas, charcuterie boards and still and sparkling water. We added a cornhole set on the sand. For interns new to Los Angeles, lunch on the beach with the team is a memorable welcome.
