Netflix Finance Team Picnic with Polaroids and Cupcakes by the Pier

Netflix's EMEA Tax & Finance team was visiting Los Angeles over Thanksgiving weekend 2023, and the organizer, planning from Amsterdam, wanted something outdoors for the Sunday. We set up a noon picnic north of the Santa Monica Pier near Lifeguard Tower 12, a short walk from the Georgian Hotel, where the team was staying. The group was out on bikes that day and collected them again after the picnic.
Lunch came from Thyme Cafe, including nut-free, gluten-free and dairy-free options, and was set out on a shaded buffet. Four tables each had a small take-home flower arrangement, and the organizer added cupcakes for everyone, champagne glasses, three low beach chairs, and badminton, bocce and cornhole.
Our favorite touch was the two Polaroid cameras with extra film, so the team left with instant photos from the beach. By the day of the picnic the group had settled at about 17 guests.
