A Kosher Birthday Beach Day for 38: Surf, Volleyball and Lunch

Pardi Events planned this June 2023 family birthday as a full beach day. The morning had surf lessons with Kapowui Surf and volleyball lessons and games with a separate instructor. Lunch was our part: a picnic on the sand between the volleyball nets and the restrooms, on the north side of the beach parking lot.

The family kept kosher, which shaped the setup. The client brought in the lunch, so instead of our usual plates and silverware we supplied one-time-use disposables, while glassware for drinks was fine. The spread included many platters, so we set up several buffet tables side by side. The picnic had to be ready by about 12:55, in case surfers came out of the water early.

The final headcount was 38, and the chalkboard wished the guest of honor a happy birthday. A Bose speaker handled the music for a relaxed lunch after a busy morning.
