A Birthday Picnic Turned Surprise Proposal for 20 at Tower 28

In May 2023, a client came to us with a double occasion: a birthday picnic for his girlfriend that would also be the setting for his surprise proposal. He planned it for about 20 friends and family on a Sunday at Lifeguard Tower 28, from 1 to 4 p.m. We moved the start time to fit his schedule and added the extra hour.
He brought his own caterer, so we set out two buffet tables in the shade for the food, next to the low picnic tables. Music mattered too. He first considered a DJ, then settled on our Bose S1 speaker running off a quiet solar generator, loud enough for a group of 20 without a gas generator on the sand.
Guests could play cornhole and ladder toss on the sand. The setup combined a birthday party with a private moment, and for the surprise to work, everything had to look like an ordinary birthday picnic until the right moment.
