A Birthday Beach Party for 50 with Perry's Pizza in Santa Monica

This May 2025 birthday party started out as a Large Beach Picnic for a couple of dozen people and grew to about 50 guests by the big day. The host found us through Google and booked a three-hour picnic starting at noon on a Saturday, with a chalkboard birthday message waiting at the setup.

For food, we connected the host with our friends at Perry's Beach Cafe, whose team walked her through an order sized for the crowd: Sicilian-style pizzas, fries, salad and sides. A shaded buffet area kept everything out of the sun, and we supplied single-use plates, cutlery and napkins for 50 so cleanup stayed simple on the sand.

Drinks went into two coolers packed with ice, alongside enough water for every guest, and we brought a cake knife for the birthday cake. Between courses the group had cornhole, ladder toss and Spikeball set up nearby, an easy way to keep a mixed group of friends and family moving and mingling for the afternoon.
